Daniel Higgs travels with his songs, and his songs are traveling songs, capable of transporting us into the magical mind realms of symbol and myth, and into the unnamed spirit worlds beyond and between words. His work is a new manifestation of a longer, larger work, the eternal work of the mystics – who have always wandered, and have always sung. Daniel is dedicated to mystery, its consideration and illumination. This dedication to the etheric is rarified indeed in our current age, even rarer still is his ability to weave song into a powerful gateway, through which we can access the vast wilderness of the mysterious for ourselves.

Daniel's musical works have varied greatly over the years, as he has crisscrossed the globe with different instruments in hand (shruti box, jew's harp, long-neck banjo), danced between labels (Thrill Jockey, Holy Mountain, Discord, etc.), and allied himself with other musicians – many know him as the singer of Lungfish, and recently Daniel has recorded and toured with The Skull Defekts... creating two veil rending albums of sonic treasure. And Daniel has ten solo albums to his name, among the countless sidelines.

Over and over again we Gnome Lifers have cherished Daniel's limited vinyl releases and quested for his often hard to find underground shows. Indeed we delight in the opportunity to bathe in the esoteric ecstasy of Daniel Higgs. So it is with great pleasure and anticipation, that we will present two brand new and grand song collections.
