Mega
Bog is (in their own words) "Erin Birgy, Zach
Burba, Shelby Turner and at other times a grip of good ghouls
goobin' through the golden dawn."
They
live in Seattle, and the music suits the Puget environs. It's
wild and wet, and with a sort of invigorating chill running
through every moment. It's all rusty browns, deep blues and
aromatic greens. Yeah, it works the Puget vibe. But it also
seems the right kind of music for an unknown, modern, subterranean
people. Songs from a comfortable cave country. Then again it
might not be music for people at all. These might be
songs aimed at an audience of low-hanging mists, colossal fog
plumes, or tidal swells.
Well
whomever it was meant for, it sure is groovy. And it's made
clear by Mega Bog that excavating The Mystery
can be a joyful thing.
Like
so many great musicians Erin Birgy also runs her own excellent
label called Wizards
of the Ghost. And of course Mega Bog
has a myspace
and facebook,
check them out.
