Wildbirds & Peacedrums is singer Mariam Wallentin and drummer Andreas Werliin, from Stockholm, Sweden (formerly of Göteborg). They have chosen only the most ancient of musical instruments to create with (drum and voice) – likely the first two instruments each of us discovers as a child, certainly the first two instruments we discovered as a species. Out of this primordial continuum comes something truly modern, a nearly unclassifiable mix of spare, emotive singing, and complex, sinuous percussion.
